The Wonder View Inn in Bar Harbor, Maine is a nice inn up on a hill overlooking Bar Harbor and Frenchman’s Bay.
The adjacent Looking Glass restaurant has a great view of the bay and has excellent food and ambiance.
The balcony overlooking the bay has great views to wake up to in the morning.
Alex lost a tooth and was happy to get a visit from the tooth fairy.
In summary this a great spot to base your visit to Acadia National Park.
North Hampton State Beach is a local beach with a parking lot and bathhouse but little other amenities. It is the perfect spot for swimming and sunbathing.
The surf in the winter can be fun to watch.

White chocolate bar with saffron. I could not taste much saffron but the white chocolate was excellent. Alex does not care for white chocolate. Alex-5 Joe-10 Rita-8

Breadsticks with olive oil and olives. A nice crunch snack. Alex-5 Joe-9
Amica Bruschetta Chips
Tomato and basil potato chips, basically pizza chips. Alex-9 Joe-7

Alfredo’s Truffle Chips
Potato chips with black truffles. Not much truffle flavor but a good chip Alex-7 Joe-9

Froletti Al Limone Cookies
Lemon cookies, I am not usually a cookie person but I found many of these Italian cookies very good. Alex-7 Joe-8

Cantucci Con Mandorle
Almond biscotti were excellent. My father used to eat similar cookies when I was growing up. Alex-6 Joe-10

Moretta Tiramisu
One of my favorite deserts but this packaged snack left much to be desired. Alex absolutely loved it though. Alex-10 Joe-6

All in all my favorite box so far.
Hampton Beach State Park in Hampton Beach New Hampshire is the quintessential summer vacation destination with camping and beach swimming.
Camping is only during the summer season but the park is open all year for other activities. The winter winds bring great opportunities for kite flying.
And of course the park is just up the street from all of the attractions of the town of Hampton Beach with its summer concert series, restaurants, fast food and shops. See our post on Hampton Beach Summer Fun for more information.
