Who Goes There? is an autobiographical account of Nick Griffiths pilgrimage to Doctor Who filming locations in the UK.
It is totally unfair to judge a person by a few lines of text in this autobiographical travelogue but Griffiths paints himself as someone I would not like to know. The chain smoking person he himself represents comes across as unsavory. I found this book a disappointing mixture of two genres. The travel part of the book was more about Griffiths endeavors to get to the areas he was looking for rather than the site itself. On the other hand the autobiographical bits were too minimal to catch your interest. The death of his mother was touching and poignant but there were not enough of these anecdotes. 6 out of 10.
The Coins and Currency Club selection for the month is Croatia. Croatia, officially The Republic of Croatia is a former part of Yugoslavia and located in the heart of the Balkan peninsula. Its coast lies entirely on the Adriatic Sea. It borders Slovenia to the northwest, Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro to the southeast, and shares a maritime border with Italy to the west. Its capital and largest city, Zagreb.
Alex identified the country down to the Balkans but did not guess Croatia
In my more mobile years I was quite the avid forager and berry picker. I used to make jams and jellies from a variety of different berries so was craving a nice preserve apart from the ones you can get in the grocery store. I saw this product on the Galil website and have been impressed with their other products so gave it a try.
The best way to evaluate a good preserve or jam is on a nice piece of toasted bread
Disappointing although as good or better than any supermarket brand it was not up to the homemade product
