Taste Test – Quail

Quail is the collective name for several mid-sized birds in the order galliformes. Quail is a game bird that can be easily obtained via mail order or even in some supermarkets. They are perfect if you crave a nice game bird flavor. I made a little bread stuffing and the four birds made a perfect lunch for Alex and I.

The meat on a quail is dark similar to duck or goose. They are sufficient for a light lunch or as an appetizer but there is not much meat available. If you are adverse to gamey flavors they might not be for you. Alex 7 out of 10, Joe 8 out of 10.

Taste Test – Tee’s Kitchen Chin Chin

Chin chin is a fried snack food from Nigeria. It is a simple flour, milk, sugar and butter dough cut into small pieces and fried. Similar to fried dough but very crunchy due to its small surface area, Many Nigerian children eat chin chin like Americans eat cookies as a sweet sugary snack or treat. There are numerous venders on line where chin chins can be purchased.

These chin chins from Tee’s Kitchen were very good both crunchy and sweet. Alex loved them and he munches on some like popcorn while in front of the TV. I prefer more savory snacks and not so sweet but they were very good when you are craving something sweet. Alex 9 out of 10, Joe 7 out of 10.
