A pasta dish from HelloFresh tonight this time with rigatoni and pork sausage. This was not our favorite pasta dish, it was a little too tart and the cream sauce was not up to HelloFresh’s usual standards in our opinions. 6 out of 10.

Taste Test – HelloFresh (One-Pan Black Bean & Pepper Quesadillas)
Our first time trying a quesadilla dish from HelloFresh. A simple preparation all in one pan except for some chicken meat we decided to add to the vegetarian dish. Rita liked the crunchy texture but was not a fan of the black beans in the recipe, her opinion is that beans should only go with her Brazilian rice and beans! Alex loved the dish 10 out of 10 for him Rita and I 6 out of 10.
Taste Test – HelloFresh (Mushroom & Herb Shepherd’s Pie)
This shepherd’s pie dish is tonight’s offering from HelloFresh. Alex loves shepherd’s pie but this vegetarian version had mushrooms instead of meat. Alex and Rita both dislike mushrooms so that was not to their liking, however the mushrooms were in big enough pieces so they could be easily picked out. Alex still rated it 8 out of 10, while Rita gave it 6 out of 10.
Taste Test – Horchata
Horchata is a Mexican drink which originated in Africa before being imported to the New World. It is a plant based drink without dairy products. This version is made with rice whereas the African version used ground tiger nuts. This bottle of concentrate is mixed one part concentrate with seven parts water. The one drawback is it tends to separate quickly but easily goes back into solution with a shake. The consistency is on the thick side similar to a smoothie. Alex loved it downing the whole tumbler in one go 9 out of 10 for him.
Taste Test – Wild Fork Veal Short Ribs
Alex and I both adore ribs so we tried these veal short ribs from Wild Fork Foods. Our preferred method of cooking ribs is a simple roast with just a little Montreal Steak Seasoning. This method was not the best technique for these ribs as they came out a bit chewy. We give these a 6 out of 10 but mainly because of the wrong cooking process, I am sure they would have been excellent braised.
