The Piscassic Park and Boat Launch in Newmarket lies at the confluence of the Piscassic and Lamprey Rivers. It is a great place for canoeing and kayaking on the Lamprey with quiet waters surrounding the put-in.

Packers Falls today is a prime fishing location with a small parking area capable of holding three to four cars. A pedestrian walkway on the bridge crossing the river on Packers Falls Road provides the best views.

Folletts Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Newmarket is a pleasant little are perfect for a relaxing weekend stroll through fields and woods. It is an important tributary into Great Bay and a birding hotspot. One group reported sighting 63 species of birds on one afternoon stroll. The site is easily accessed off NH Route 152.
