Taste Test – MunchPak (December 2022)

This is our first subscription box from MunchPak. The quality of the snacks were Okay but it was disappointing that the snacks were from many different locations rather than from a single country or region. There were more sweet snacks than savory than what we had seen in other subscription boxes. The box had one information card that described each snack and identified the country of origin. The box is acceptable if you just want a variety of snacks to sit down with in front of the TV but if you are planning on an educational element on different countries I would recommend another subscription service. Taste Test – Bokksu Market Subscription Box

Bokksu Market is an online Asian grocery store that also sells a subscription box of Asian products. We tried a box for October 2022. The box contained a variety of items but mostly ramen of different types some in premade bowls and some just in packaging. We found the variety of different ramen very good and much superior to the typical American ramen you get in the supermarket. The box also contained two cans of Thai soup and a couple of candy/ sweet items.

Taste Test – S&B Umami Topping Crunchy Garlic with Chili Oil

Growing up in Brazil Rita eats a lot of rice and beans resulting in a lot of leftover white rice that makes it way into my lunch the next day. I usually add some hot peppers and mix them into the rice but I wanted something a little more flavorful. I purchased this S&B Umami topping for that reason. The product was very thick with a very small liquid component. As the name suggests it was more of a topping than a mix-in addition. Not very spicy, the flavor profile was rather mild. I enjoyed it more on a stir fry or fried rice dish than on plain white rice.
