John B. Folsom Conservation Area – Epping, New Hampshire

The John B. Folsom Conservation Area is a small 22 acre tract of land that was given to the town in lieu of tax payments. A trail leads from the parking area along a well maintained path to a connection to the Rockingham Rail Trail. So in effect you can extend this hike to however long as you want.

From the small semi-circular parking area the trail head is on the right leading down through a wooded lane for ~ 0.7 miles.

The highlight of the short hike is the rail road bridge on the Lamprey River.

I have been to this site several times and have never seen another soul. A very pleasant walk for the family with little else but nature to keep you company.
