Bernardo Merkel was the parish priest at the Church Sanctuary Our Lady Aparecida. Merkel was the padre of the church for many decades and baptized Rita, all of her siblings and her parents.
Our Lady Aparecida Church in Arapongas was Rita’s family church when growing up in Brazil.

On his trip to Arapongas in Brazil Alex was hesitant to try this corn flavored ice cream Milho Verde. Milho berde is what we call here sweet corn.
Alex fell in love with this snack and it became his favorite ice cream treat ever 10 out of 10
The Hotel Executive is centrally located in Arapongas and has a full service restaurant, a gym and pool. Rita and Alex spent a few nights here when first arriving in Brazil.

Dog King in Arapongas is a fast food / cafeteria style restaurant featuring as the name implies hot dogs. The restaurant itself is similar to our own children friendly fast food establishments complete with a kiddie fun area.
