We saw on Amazon a bag of assorted candies from Mexico. Unfortunately there wasn’t any descriptive information included so we were trying them blind. The candy seemed very low end and geared more to younger children.

If you have never had gelato Dolce Freddo in Newburyport is a great place to start. Similar to ice cream, gelato is made from a custard base of milk, cream, and sugar. The difference lies in the proportions of each with gelato having more milk (and less cream) compared to ice cream.

The Chicken Connection in Plaistow is one of several locations for this small chain. They are noted for their chicken fingers, fried chicken and side dishes but they also have ribs and BBQ. Their fried chicken is very good and Alex likes their fingers. The array of side dishes is also a highlight.

Sal’s Pizza in Derry is a pizza chain that was first established in 1990. I like their thin crust pizza and find this to be one of the best pizzas in our general area.

Good’s Potato Chips was founded in 1886 when Anna Good and her husband Samuel went into the potato chip business. They still fry their chips in lard which imparts a unique flavor. We enjoyed the chips, they were kettle cooked and very crunchy and the taste was an amplified Cape Cod Chip flavor.
