I purchase fresh quail eggs from the Super 88 Market in Malden, Massachusetts. More of a novelty than a staple food item they are an interesting conversation starter when served at a party or hard boiled in a salad. The eggs tast very similar to chicken eggs.
I love the tiny size when put into a salad whole.
