The statue of Dom José I of Portugal is a 14 meter high monument consisting of a bronze equestrian statue on a large richly decorated, lime stone pedestal. It is the first cast bronze statue in Portugal and is the oldest public statue in Lisbon and the country. It is located in the Praça do Comércio in the Belem district of Lisbon.
