The Felsenkirche or Church in the Rock is a cliff hanging chapel in the town of Idar-Oberstein in Germany. There is a spring in the cliffside which eroded a cavern in which this small yet dominating church was erected in 1484, possibly on the site of a previous fortification or place of worship.
Idar-Oberstein itself is a charming German town with a small museum and castle on top of the mountain.
