Haverhill Corner Historic District – Haverhill, New Hampshire

Haverhill Corner is one of the six villages comprising Haverhill, New Hampshire. There are over sixty Georgian and Federal-style buildings within the district many of them surrounding a charming town common. The town was the terminus of the Old Province Road which went from Durham on the seacoast to the New Hampshire lakes region and on to the Connecticut River. This is a wonderful stop when driving up the scenic NH Route 10 which parallels the river.

Hidden Valley Conservation Area – Lyme, New Hampshire

The Hidden Valley Wildlife Conservation Area in Lyme is an undeveloped tract of land with no established hiking trails or other access points to the river. Located on NH Route 10 which parallels the Connecticut River it is a good spot for birding or a walk through the woods if you are skilled in bushwhacking and off trail hiking. There is a nice view of the river from the parking area.
