Our MunchPak shipment for March 2023. We had high hopes for this box as the previous couple of months had the highest score of any of out snack subscription boxes. As it turned out however we rated the box one of our all time lowest scores. Alex 6.44 out of 10 and Joe 6.13 out of 10. If this was one of our first MunchPak boxes we would probably have canceled our subscription as we do not like the fact that there is no theme to the box with the snacks coming from many different countries and not one location.

Pili nuts (Canarium ovatum), are a species of tropical tree belonging to the genus Canariumare the nuts grow in the volcanic soil of the Philippine peninsula. The nuts are high in protein, calcium and potassium.
The nuts were not to our liking they were mealy in texture and had an unusual flavor which was not to our taste. The ranch flavoring did not add significantly to the overall flavor. 5 out of 10, an acquired taste. They were not like any other type of nut we have tried but give them a go you never know how your taste may differ.
This MunchPak shipment is the first of two that arrived in February? Countries sampled this time were the same ones as last month; China, Japan, The Philippines, Turkey, Thailand, Korea, Italy and Mexico. I find the quality of the snacks in these boxes to be quite good but the lack of variety of countries from month to month is a definite drawback for a continued subscription. For the first time Alex and I got the exact same score for a subscription box 6.93 out of 10. The quality of these snacks is better than any other subscription boxes we received from Universal Yums or SnackCrate. If you just want a box of snacks to enjoy in front of the TV this box might be just for you. If you want more of an educational element for your kids I would suggest another subscription service.

Goldilocks Coffee Crunch Polvoron – coffee shortbread with cashews very strong coffee flavor and odor. You can smell coffee as soon as you open the package, still has the same crumbly dry texture. The flavor was so good I think I could get used to the texture. Alex-6 Joe-9

An interesting box Alex had his second highest score overall and although my score was very close to his I have a half dozen countries rated higher than this box. We both had a mixture of some very high scores but also some low scores that brought the average down.
