Restaurant Review – Lunts Gateway Lobster Pound (Trenton, Maine)

Any trip to Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park must be finished with a stop at one of the many lobster shacks lining the road onto the island. We chose one at random and stopped at Lunts Gateway Lobster Pound in Trenton. The location had the main prerequisite for a good lobster shack; a large kettle outside the restaurant boiling lobsters.

The interior decor is what you would expect with a very casual ambiance. The walls and tables were piled high with knick knacks of all sorts.

We placed our orders, I got the lobster, Rita fish and chips and Alex got shrimp.

The fried seafood was good and the lobster was very nice. The onion rings were thin and crispy just how we like them and the fries were fresh cut and very nice. A worthwhile stop.
