Eastport, Maine at one time had numerous sardine canneries with one of the most popular inclusions with the sardines being mustard. With this in mind J. Wesley Raye founded the Raye’s Mustard Mill ,still owned by the Raye family, in 1900.
The small batch mill is still in operation and is open as a living history museum as well.
The store is no longer on site but is located in downtown Eastport. Make sure you stop by as you will not find better tasting mustard anywhere. Many varieties are available.
