Taste Test – Armenian String Cheese

My favorite cheese is Armenian String Cheese from the eastern European country of Armenia.

I fell in love with this cheese after purchasing it from a middle eastern import food store. It is a soft stringy cheese that is very salty and has a wonderful crunch from the Nigella seeds sprinkled throughout. The cheese can be found in some mass market grocery stores and there are American producers. Although somewhat rare it is available in the US. The domestic versions are not as good as the import but they are still very reminiscent of the original product.
Alex liked the cheese but would not consider it one of his favorites.
