Doctor Who Extended Media Review – Adventures in Type and Space a Celebration of Classic Doctor Who Title Sequences

Adventures in Type and Space published by Ten Acre Films is an in-depth study of the evolution and history of Doctor Who title sequences.

The book has tremendous scholarship on the subject with interviews of the artists and graphic designers and the history behind each sequence, The Doyalist take of the subject does not hole much interest for me but if you are of that bent you may find it enthralling, for me 6 out of 10.

Doctor Who Extended Media Review – Wannabes by Dave Rudden

The Wannabes by Dave Rudden was the fourth novel in the 60th anniversary decades collection the 1990s story.

This was my least favorite of the decades collection part of the problem was that the Tenth Doctor and Donna were never my go to team but the story itself was not memorable. I find myself writing this review and have a hard time remembering the plot after only a few weeks after reading it. The music plot didn’t hold my interest either. 6 out of 10.

An adaption of the David Whittaker first chapter of his The Daleks novelization

This first story has great animation and is a faithful adaption of Whittaker’s beginning of the second Doctor Who serial. This is very different than the televised version of the story but is a good representation of what was written. 10 out of 10.

A telesnap story of the Doctor returning to Totter’s Lane

This was an excellent original story of the Doctor and Steven returning to Totter’s Lane and watching Susan from afar. There was the angst and melancholy of the situation well deserved of the meeting. 10 out of 10.

The Doctor in the prehistoric stone-age

An abstract animation style and rater silly story not to my liking 6 out of 10.
