The largest lake in the New Hampshire lake region is Lake Winnipesaukee. We sailed out of Weirs Beach, New Hampshire on the M/S Mount Washington.
The small ship has seating inside as well as ample outdoor seating. Be careful during the shoulder seasons as it can be quite cold. The cruise is short up and down the lake with good views of the islands and lake shore. The first island of note you will see is Governor’s Island, look out for the mansions right on the lake shore.
Three Mile Island is the next point of interest. The 43 acre island has a series of cabins and wood framed tents run by the AMC. The site has no running water or electricity but has numerous activities available for the adventurous traveler.
As you make your way through the Broads which is the widest and deepest part of the lake the boat will turn around and take you back to Weirs Beach. The M/S Mt Washington has five ports of call on Lake Winnipesaukee and also has brunch cruises available. A very pleasant half day on the water for the whole family.
