Not our name, but our passion
Caistor Hall is in the rural countryside just three miles from the center of Norwich, England. The hall was built between 1795 and 1797 during the time of King George III for the Dashwood family. Twenty rooms are set in 32 acres of grounds and woodland. A beautiful room, beautiful setting and phenomenal service all at a reasonable price make this the perfect accommodation.
A late night arrival in London led us to book a modern hotel adjacent to the airport for convenience. The Radisson Blu Hotel is right next to London’s Stansted Airport. The modern hotel had all the amenities you would expect for the type. Comfortable clean rooms conveniently located.
Set in the heart of the old town of Coimbra, Portugal this charming central square is the perfect place to base your exploration of this wonderful city. We were staying at the Hotel Oslo which was just a block away from the square.
The alley leading to the square is lined with restaurants many of which we were to try in the next several days. Click the links for reviews of the ones we sampled.

Many more restaurants were closed due to COVID hopefully they will reopen but they may be gone forever 🙁
The square has many historical buildings surrounding the statue of Joaquim António de Aguiar.

and the nearby St. Tiage Church and St. Bartolomeu Church.
Situated on the banks of the Mondego River sits Coimbra’s Hotel Astória. The Astória is an Art Nouveau-Art Déco masterpiece with the romance and grace of a different century, and has been one of Coimbra´s main architectural gems for almost a century.
This hotel in Coimbra, has an excellent central location – adjacent to the downtown shopping district and close to the famous university and all the historic monuments – and with great river views. The Santa Clara Bridge has great views of the hotel.
