Restaurant Review – Christy’s Pizza (Salisbury, Massachusetts)

The other half of the famous “Beach Pizza” war with Tripoli Bakery and Pizza which is a few feet away from this location Christy’s has locations here in Salisbury and one in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. Beach pizza is a rectangular pie cut into square pieces, it has just a sprinkling of cheese and a very sweet sauce. The crust is very crunchy and is somewhere between a Sicilian style and a common thin crust.

Alex and I had both tried Tripoli so we got a pair of slices to try from Christy’s.

A very nice option for a quick snack at the beach and quite reasonable in price, two slices for $5.00

Fadden’s General Store – North Woodstock, New Hampshire

The Fadden family has been making maple syrup for two hundred years and the Fadden General Store and Maple Sugarhouse has been open since 1896. The site in North Woodstock, New Hampshire not only sells the family’s award winning maple syrup but a range of other New Hampshire themed products.

Dockside Grille and Dairy Bar – Wolfeboro, New Hampshire

The Dockside Grille and Dairy Bar in Wolfeboro is located dockside where you can bring your boat up to the dock and grab a bite to eat or an ice cream. Very convenient for both boaters and tourists alike centered in the middle of historic Wolfeboro. The food was actually very good for the type of restaurant it is.

Food Shop Review – Super 88 Market (Malden, Massachusetts)

The Super 88 Market in Malden is my favorite go to location for meat and produce. You can find all the unusual cuts that you will be hard pressed to see in your local supermarket. Chicken feet, fresh pork belly and any organ meat you could want are readily available. On the produce side you can find Durian, baby bok choy, bitter melon and other Asian vegetables. The fresh fish section is the next best thing to a harborside fish market and the frozen fish section has all sorts of unusual options. Rita finds many of her favorites in the prepackaged aisles with yakult and guarana of all sizes.

Pig tails anyone?

Try some durian but don’t open inside!!

All sorts of frozen fish, I like to try a different one each time I go.

I always stock the freezer with baby anchovies, my favorite. Breaded and fried they make delicious fish chips.

Fresh quail eggs.

Once you try duck eggs you will never look at a chicken egg the same way again.

Packaged items abound.
