Donna’s Donuts in Tewksbury is a local donut shop known for their unusual donut creations. These are perfect for a party as a novelty item and conversation piece. Donuts shaped like a cheeseburger, meatball sub or steak and cheese will get people to look twice. The donuts themselves are fine typical donut shop donut. If you like Boston cream type filling you will like these unusual creations as that is the binding for the cheesesteak etc.
If you have never had gelato Dolce Freddo in Newburyport is a great place to start. Similar to ice cream, gelato is made from a custard base of milk, cream, and sugar. The difference lies in the proportions of each with gelato having more milk (and less cream) compared to ice cream.

The Center Scoop is an ice cream shop conveniently located in Chester about half way between Rita’s work and our home in Raymond. They are seasonal but in the summer Alex and I will stop of for an icy treat on days we are meeting Rita at work.

While exploring Lowell. Massachusetts where Rita was showing Alex where she lived and worked when she first came to the United States we came across this Brazilian Grocery. The Açougue do João Butcher & Grocery Store had a nice selection of packaged items imported from Brazil as well as a nice butchery with Brazilian sausage and cuts of meat.

Tuscan Market has relocated from its previous location adjacent to the Tuscan Kitchen Restaurant. The Tuscan Village is a new development that combines shops, restaurants and residential properties. The new market is larger and has the same selection of imported Italian food items. We head here frequently to buy the delicious ciabatta bread and imported deli meat.
There are frequent activities such as festivals and car shows etc.
