Sawyer’s Beach in Rye, New Hampshire is just of US Route 1A. This is mainly a local access beach with parking along the road and limited access to a mixed pebble and sand beach. There is a large rocky barrier along the road which can be climbed or the beach can be more easily accessed from the north end of the beach.

Wallis Sands State Beach (Rye, New Hampshire)
Wallis Sands in Rye, New Hampshire is the perfect summer swimming beach if you have small children. The sandy stretch of beach extends way out into the bay with gentle waves and shallow water for many meters. Restaurant Review – Al’s Seafood (North Hampton, New Hampshire)
One of our favorite seafood shacks is Al’s Seafood in North Hampton, New Hampshire. There is also a fish market on site and you enter through the fish market doors.
There is a walk up order counter with the menu on boards surrounding the counter. Choose your entrees and receive a number. The dining area is adjacent to the order counter. You seat yourself, get your drinks from the various dispensers and when you food is ready it will be brought tom your table.
This is certainly a no frills restaurant but the quality of the seafood makes up for the lack of ambiance. You cannot go wrong with any of the fried seafood options.
They also have decent burgers.
Restaurant Review – La Carreta Restaurante Mexicano (Derry, New Hampshire)
Neither Rita or I are big fans of Mexican food but for a change we decided to stop at La Carreta in Derry, New Hampshire. The restaurant is conveniently located just of the busy NH Route 28 with ample parking. The Mexican themed decore is very nice and relaxing.
The freshly made tortilla chips with salsa and cheese dip was excellent.
We each had some grilled or fried options for entrees and they were a nice change from our usual fare.
Alex enjoyed his taco.
Churros for desert.
If you like Mexican food or want a change from your usual fare try La Carreta.
