Restaurant Review – China Garden (Derry, New Hampshire)

It was late one night while we were in Derry so we decided to get some takeout. After a quick Yelp search we found The China Garden and ordered several items along with fried rice. The food was typical take out Chinese fare not bad but not anything special either. If local certainly a place you could bookmark for your Chinese food fix. Rita did not like the boneless ribs thinking they had an unusual flavor, Alex and I thought they were fine.

Food Shop Review – Donna’s Donuts (Tewksbury, Massachusetts)

Donna’s Donuts in Tewksbury is a local donut shop known for their unusual donut creations. These are perfect for a party as a novelty item and conversation piece. Donuts shaped like a cheeseburger, meatball sub or steak and cheese will get people to look twice. The donuts themselves are fine typical donut shop donut. If you like Boston cream type filling you will like these unusual creations as that is the binding for the cheesesteak etc.

Taste Test – Chicken Skin

One of the most unhealthy albeit delicious snacks are chicken skins. You can buy prepackaged chicken skin from Flocks or Hatch but the best tasting are homemade. You can skin your own chicken from the supermarket but Grow & Behold will also sell packaged skin shipped to you frozen.

Simple prep just sprinkle with your favorite spice (mine is Heath Riles Garlic Butter) and bake

Collect the rendered chicken fat (schmaltz) for cooking

Fantastic snack – try not to eat too much!
