Carlton Fisk was the Baseball Hall of Fame catcher for the Boston Red Sox from 1970-1980. Any Red Sox fan of my generation has his extra innings home run in the 1975 World Series indelibly etched into their consciousness. Fisk waving the game winning home run fair was the highlight of all of us long suffering fans.
Fisk was born and raised in the New Hampshire town of Charlestown.
