Fort Knox State Park – Prospect, Maine

Fort Knox State Park in Prospect, Maine is a wonderful site both for the historic fort and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge Observation Deck.
Our first stop was the bridge and observation deck. A long ramp leads down to the entrance to the deck where an elevator takes you to the top for some spectacular views.

Taste Test – Quisp Cereal

Alex and I were watching a Youtube video of 1960’s animated cartoons so that he could see the kinds of programs I was watching when I was his age. During the video they were interspersing the rundown of cartoons with vintage kids commercials. One of the commercials was for Quisp Cereal which was my favorite when I was growing up. I remembered the Quisp vs Quake commercials. As a curiosity I decided to google search the cereal to facilitate my memories and was very surprised to see pop up an Amazon add to purchase the product. I found out in 2012 the cereal was reissued as a grocery store item. I had not seen the cereal in any of my local supermarkets so I ordered a box.

It was nice to see the little cartoons were still on the back of the box. Alex quite liked the cereal when he tried it. It brought back memories to me when I tasted it, the same sweet crunchy flavor I remembered. Not a cereal I will eat often anymore but I can see me ordering a box now and then.
